This past April, Mayor Bloomberg answered President Obama's nationwide call to volunteerism by establishing NYC Service, an initiative focused on heightening civic engagement opportunities throughout the boroughs. In keeping with this mission, MillionTreesNYC is proud to announce the launch of the Stewardship Corps, a citizen-based program channeling the power of volunteerism to urban tree care. Our partners Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Greenbelt Conservancy, GreenThumb, Partnerships for Parks, Queens Botanic Garden, New York Botanic Garden and TreesNY will engage everyday New Yorkers in greening their streets by providing:
You can have a leading role in supporting the health and heartiness of street trees by becoming a MillionTrees steward and attending one of our tree care workshops. Several times and locations are available on both our community calendar and online registration.
