Trees New York Job Training Initiative
Entry Level Forestry Career Training is a TNY initiative based on the notion that working with trees can translate into an economic future. It has been found that in NYC there is a niche for employees and entrepreneurs in this area of small business.

This training program began in 1998 through collaborations with the New York office of Enterprise Foundation and others. Specialized curriculum was developed to include fieldwork and to allow for a wide range in age and educational background. J. M. Kaplan Fund gave curriculum seed funding.

We are working with BIDs, tree contractors, local development companies, and small business consultants to provide the greatest potential for placement. We are continually in the process of identifying funding.
