TREES NEW YORK RESOURCES

Now that the weather is warm, here are some things you can do to help your trees:

  1. Watering is one of the most important ways to help your tree. See Helping a Tree Recover from Drought for an easy way to water your trees.
  2. Remove debris from tree pit including garbage and pine needles used as mulch during the winter.
  3. Remove decorative lighting from trees if you haven't already. This is important because not only is it illegal to leave the lights on the trees all year, it is very detrimental to the health of the tree. The lights will girdle the tree and prevent nutrients, water, and oxygen from moving through the tree.

If you are a certified Citizen Pruner you might want to take advantage of the nice weather to prune in your neighborhood. If you would like to join others or have others join you in pruning go to Outings Page and check whether anyone has listed an outing. If no outings are scheduled, please email us to schedule your own.
